Meet the AIOZ team: Trieu Nguyen, Chief Technology Officer
In order to bring you closer to the AIOZ Network project and show you the people who are working tirelessly on making the future of decentralized streaming a reality, we have recently created the “Meet the AIOZ team” segment. In the first post of this series, we talked to Hien Nguyen, Head of Blockchain.
Today, we are introducing Trieu Nguyen, our Chief Technology Officer (CTO), so you can learn more about his role in the AIOZ Network, his previous experiences, and his path towards the world of blockchain and joining the AIOZ project.
His presence has been fundamental to creating the AIOZ Network and to the future development of the project from a technical perspective. He brings in years of experience working with blockchain technology and web 3.0 projects.
Like many in our community, Trieu believes that blockchain technology will bring about critical changes to the world as we know it today, both in and outside of the realm of streaming.

What is your current position and functions at AIOZ?
In the early stages of the AIOZ Network, I laid the foundation for the whole blockchain architecture of the project.
As our CTO, I am responsible for developing and implementing the AIOZ Network’s blockchain framework and ensuring that the product will have (and continue to have) the best technology offerings in the highly competitive and quickly evolving blockchain market.
I am in charge of planning and implementing the technical roadmap for several years ahead while researching the new trends and technological developments that may come to the industry. I also distill information into key trends in order to decide if the project roadmap needs to be updated in order to keep up with said developments.
I provide the CEO with a variety of strategies and information regarding the technical direction of the project. Additionally, I work closely with the development team to make sure that the overall development direction is well aligned with the project’s strategic vision, participating in the brainstorming process when it comes to the different challenges that our team is facing.
What other projects did you work on before joining the AIOZ Network?
I have worked on many projects before joining the AIOZ Network.
The first project that brought me to the blockchain world was in 2013 when I was a Technical Leader for an e-commerce platform project that used Bitcoin as a payment method. At that time, Bitcoin was not established as an asset class and was mostly unknown to most people. In this position, I got the opportunity to get involved with blockchain technology early on. My passion for technology pushed me to quickly understand this technology and motivated me to work on it in the future.
Following that role, I participated in several projects as a core developer including a cloud-based ERP system that featured accounting, inventory management, manufacturing management, reports, and analytics; and another ERP system that involved smart routing delivery for a Singapore-based logistics company.
Another very interesting project that I was involved in is a chat and online conferencing application platform with video calling and live streaming features. In this project, I acquired valuable experience in media streaming and learned about the most advanced technologies in media streaming, leveraging advanced WebRTC and using powerful media servers like Kurento, Jitsi, Janus Gateway, and Mediasoup. In the process, I understood the extensive challenges of operating these media servers in a centralized system, including scalability and costly operational expenses.
Along with the advent of blockchain technology and web 3.0, I also had the opportunity to participate in a decentralized e-commerce project. I designed the architecture for the entire project and wrote smart contracts in the Solidity language. As a result, I sharpened my blockchain skills and knowledge, gaining a deeper insight into what blockchain can do for the real world.
All of the experiences and challenges that I have encountered throughout my career serve as stepping stones that eventually brought me to the AIOZ Network.
Why did you join the AIOZ Network project?
I love programming, technology and am always looking to turn my knowledge in this area into products that can be useful in people’s everyday life. I also believe that blockchain will become a component of every technology we use, and I want to ensure that I am part of this revolution. I believe that the AIOZ Network will help me to achieve this goal and that is the reason why I joined the project.
What is your favorite aspect of working at AIOZ?
What I like the most about working at AIOZ is our team’s working spirit. We all love technology and want to use it to create something useful in our lives. Believing in the common vision of the project and in each other, we have been able to overcome every challenge together.
We strive to maintain our fighting spirit alive, so even as the company grows bigger I feel that we will always act like a startup in all senses — ambitious and pioneering.
What are your thoughts on the development of the AIOZ Network and the implementation of its technologies?
The AIOZ Network team has worked very hard over the years. We always learn about the latest and most advanced technologies in the field of blockchain and video streaming and apply them to this project. As a result, we were able to launch a working product that has been well received by everyone.
The implementation of AIOZ Network in the streaming world is the product of our passion and we are proud of it. Therefore, I believe that the AIOZ Network is, and will always be, a pioneer applying both fields of streaming and blockchain tech together.
What do you think is the greatest benefit of blockchain as a technology?
Blockchain is an amazing technology because it offers a lot of use cases over traditional methods, which include: removing the need for a trusted intermediary, based on decentralized structure, improved security and privacy, cost efficiency, fast transactions, transparency, and immutability. And in my opinion, the greatest benefit of blockchain is that it creates a safe haven for the people: they can store their data/assets on blockchain without worrying about interference from any party or organization or being hacked (thanks to the trust-free, decentralized, and highly secured nature of blockchain), and can safely and instantly send data/assets to the right destination with unalterable transactions (thanks to the immutable and transparency nature of blockchain).
How do you see blockchain technology affecting the world in the future and how will AIOZ be part of that?
Blockchain is yet to be applied in many industries. However, given the many benefits that we’ve discussed earlier, I believe that blockchain will have more and more real applications in many fields in the near future. One of the areas that I think will be extremely developed with blockchain technology is the sharing economy. With blockchain, applications no longer need to be deployed on a centralized server: They can be run on a peer-to-peer network that is not controlled by any single party.
Blockchain-based applications can be used to coordinate the activities of a large number of individuals who can organize themselves without the help of a third party. Ultimately, blockchain technology is a way for individuals to coordinate common activities, interact directly with one another, and govern themselves in a more secure and decentralized manner.
I believe that AIOZ will always be at the forefront of the application of blockchain tech in this sharing economy, especially in the digital streaming ecosystem
